Golf terminology
I've never been clear about golf terms such as birdie, eagle and bogey. I know that 'par' means you're on par with the score expected on the course. A certain hole may have a score of 4, and if you get the ball in with 4 shots, you're on par.
I know that birdie, eagle and bogey mean you either do great and get the ball in with less shots than expected, or you play badly like me and go over par.
So let's clear this up (for my own sake, if anything).
3 (shots over par) = triple bogey
2 = double bogey
1 = bogey
0 = par
-1 = birdie
-2 = eagle
-3 = albatross
Fairly easy to remember. A bogey is a dried up bit of mucus in your nostril, not appealing, and neither is a golf bogey. A birdie is nice to see, an eagle is better (and rarer), and if you see an albatross then make sure to take a photo.
