Revolut's "The server is not responding at the moment" error
Revolut has a payment request service that sounds quite useful. You give a link to someone who owes you money and then they follow the link to a webpage where they enter their card details. And without further ado, their money is in your Revolut account.
However, when I sent a Revolut payment request to one of my clients, he told me the payment didn't go through because he'd received an error.
So I decided to try sending a payment request to myself as test. I went into the Revolut app and created a payment request for £20:
Revolut created the payment link straight away and without any fuss:
Then I pasted the link of the payment request into a web browser on my computer and tried to complete the request.
I entered my name and bank card details. But when I clicked submit, Revolut gave me the error "Whoops, sorry! The server is not responding at the moment, please try again later."
Guess what happened when I tried again later? I still got that bloody message.
What's even weirder is that if I google that phrase, there's only one result. You would think there would be more people talking about the error, but no.
It's a shame I can't get payment links to work as I like Revolut otherwise, especially its free currency conversions.

I had this problem (20th Nov) Tried multiple cards same error message. I was doing a test purchase so was trying payment request of £0.25. Found out after more reading etc that there is a £1 minimum and £250 maximum on the Payment Link service. Tried again with £1.25 request and worked.

Good to know, but it doesn't explain why it didn't work for me, since I was requesting £20.
