Useful keyboard shortcuts
I like keyboard shortcuts as long as I can easily remember them. There are so many to learn though, with different programs having their own shortcuts, that I only use a few. This page will list them. Ideally I'd like to learn more shortcuts, obviously because they're time and effort saving. I cringe at the idea of someone going to the edit menu to paste something.
Most are done by holding done Ctrl (control) then pressing another button. Sometimes Alt (alternative) and Shift are used too. Holding down these keys seems to turn the keyboard into a powerful command console. Want to fire a nuke? Ctrl + N.
Please give your favourite keyboard shortcuts in the comments section, especially if I don't already know about them!
Ctrl + C = copy
Ctrl + X = cut (because it looks like a pair of scissors?)
Ctrl + V = paste
Ctrl + I = italicise
Ctrl + B = enbolden
Ctrl + U = underline
Ctrl + S = save
Ctrl + Alt + S = save as
Ctrl + N = create new file
Ctril + F = find
Ctrl + A = select all
Alt + Tab = move through open programs
Ctrl + Shift + Esc = task manager (for when a program has crashed)...it's better than Ctrl + Alt + Delete because it brings the task manager up immediately instead of an option menu.
Ctrl + Alt + arrow keys = flip or rotate the screen. Good for pranks...
...as is Alt + F4, which closes a program. It does not give you a powerup during computer games, regardless of what your fellow players may tell you. Actually though, Alt + F4 is pretty useful as its a quick way to close a window / program.
Photoshop
Ctrl + T = transform (resize, rotate, flip, etc)
Internet browsers
Ctrl + R = refresh page
