My favourite songs
Orange Sky (2003) by Alexi Murdoch
Orange Sky is warm and heartfelt, and pretty simple - for the most part there's only two chords.

It's a touching song for me, because I'm close to my own brother and sister, but I live in another country. This song gives me an image of a perfect moment of watching a sunset with my siblings and being at peace. I hope one day we can be together again, and put aside all the arguments and hurt we caused each other growing up.
212 (2011) by Azealia Banks
212 is fucking awesome. It's unapologetically disruptive and has energy and attitude, a bit like Arctic Monkeys. I'm not the only one who likes it - the Guardian put it at number 2 of their Best Songs of 2011 list, and it was also in the book 1001 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die.

Though to be honest, I can't make out anything Azealia Banks raps throughout the whole song. Except for, "AYO AYO... I heard you're riding with the same tall, tall tale...", which just happens to be the best part. It gives me chills.
Goodbye Horses (1988) by Q Lazzarus
In The Silence of the Lambs, a serial killer dances naked to Goodbye Horses while murmuring to himself, "Would you fuck me? I'd fuck me. I'd fuck me so hard." Meanwhile, his next victim, stuck down a hole, breaks down into tears from desperation. Somehow, Goodbye Horses fits the scene's perverseness and surrealism perfectly.

By the way, the singer sounds like a man, but it's actually a woman.
Lovely head (2000) by Goldfrapp
I first heard this on a BBC Three show called Monkey Dust. Every episode, a middle-aged man walks down a dark street and passes closed-up shops and car alarms. The beginning of this song is eerie and depressing. I don't care for the rest of the song though - just the whistling.

Pruit Igoe (1983) by Philip Glass
I first heard Pruit Igoe in Grand Theft Auto IV. The song gave a disturbing and dark feeling to the simple act of just driving around. It felt like I was about to do something monstrous yet magnificent. This really should be the batman theme.

You & Me (Flume Remix) (2013) by Disclosure and Eliza Doolittle
You & Me sounds like being fucked-up on drugs, the kind of drugs that slow down your brain to a pleasurable jelly mess. The bass is great. it feels like I'm wrapping my brain in cotton wool. By the way, there's a type of street dance called "popping", and this would be a great song to pop to.

I don't like the original at all though - it sounds nothing like this remix.
Together in Electric Dreams (1984) by The Human League
Together in Electric Dreams is innocent and joyful, like Rainbow Road in Mario Kart. Though I'm not sure what electric dreams are. I imagine they feature pink neon and fluffy clouds.
